Zonori
ZonoriBot
ZonoriBot is the crawler behind "Listed by Zonori". It reads organisers' own public event pages so Zonori can list public events in the circles they fit, and every listing it makes says where it came from and who runs it.
How to recognise it
Every request it makes carries this user agent:
ZonoriBot/1.0 (+https://zonori.app/bot)
What it collects
- Public event facts: the title, date, time and venue name of a public event, and enough of its description to write a short factual summary. It does not copy flyers, logos or marketing text, and it skips private and members-only events.
- The organiser's public name, and the public page or handle the event came from, so the listing can credit them and link back.
- In some countries, one contact address that the organiser published on their own website, with where and when it was found, so Zonori can tell them about the listing. Where the law doesn't allow that email, no address is collected at all.
Nothing behind a login is ever read.
How it behaves
- It reads and obeys robots.txt, and checks it again at least once a day. When robots.txt asks for a longer crawl delay than its own, it waits longer.
- It never logs in, never solves a CAPTCHA and never changes its user agent or address to get past a block. When a site answers "no" (401, 403 or 429), it stays away for a day.
- It waits at least 10 seconds between requests to the same site, and keeps to a daily limit for each site.
- Pages it fetches are kept for 30 days so its own work can be checked, then deleted.
How to block it
To keep ZonoriBot off your whole site, add this to your robots.txt:
robots.txt
User-agent: ZonoriBot Disallow: /
To block only part of your site, use Disallow: /your-path/ instead. Blocking it stops new listings from your pages; to remove ones that already exist, see below.
How to remove listings
- One listing: open it on zonori.app and tap "Organiser? Claim or remove" under the event. You can fix a detail, remove it, or remove all your listings so Zonori doesn't list you again.
- Everything, or your data: use the data request form to get a copy of what Zonori holds about you, correct it, delete it or object to its use.
- Anything else: write to [email protected].
If you run the events, you can also claim your listings for free and run them on Zonori yourself.
