Delete your account

The fastest way is in the app: open Zonori, go to the You tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. You confirm it is you, and it is done.

If you cannot get into the app

Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with "Delete my account" as the subject. We will reply to that address to confirm it is you, and then delete the account. It is completed within 30 days and usually the same day.

What deleting does

Your profile, your photo, your values, your cities and your circle memberships go. Your name is replaced everywhere it appeared. Your RSVPs, your waiting-list places and your check-ins go. You are signed out on every device straight away. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Zonori's access to your Apple ID.

What stays, and why

  • If you verified a phone number, the seven-day lock on that number stays and then expires by itself. It exists only so a number cannot be recycled by deleting an account and signing up again.
  • If you verified a phone number, every handle you have used stays reserved, so nobody can use it to pretend to be you or pick up your old links. If you never verified one, your handle is freed 90 days after you delete your account. We keep only a scrambled form of it, with nothing that links it to you.
  • If someone reported you, or you reported someone, that report and the copy of what was reported stay for up to 12 months, for safety and fraud prevention.
  • Messages you sent stay in the chats they were sent to, so the conversation still makes sense to the people in it. They show "Deleted account" in place of your name and photo, and nothing links them to you any more.
  • A record of each purchase (what was bought, when, and the store's transaction number) is kept for 5 years from the end of its accounting year, as Thailand's Revenue Department requires. It stays with the deleted account, which no longer holds your name, contact details or profile.
  • Server traffic logs are kept for at least 90 days.

Nothing on that list can be used to rebuild your profile.

Purchases

Deleting your account does not refund anything. The store you paid handles refunds: ask Apple or Google Play, and we will not dispute the request.
