Community guidelines

Zonori has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. These rules apply to everything on Zonori, and breaking them can get content removed and an account restricted or closed.

These are also the rules a circle, a sub circle, a link between circles, an event and an event edit are reviewed against before it appears. An AI reviewer applies them, it is told to approve when in reasonable doubt, and if it rejects something you get a reason in a sentence or two that you can act on.

Circles are interests, not brands

A circle is a general category of interest — "Latin Dancing", "Running", "Board Games". Anyone from any studio, club or gym can join it.

A circle is not a club, a studio, a business, a brand, a team or a personal following. "BBG Dance Studio", "Coach Mike's Bootcamp" and "Acme Running Club" are not circles: they are one organisation or one person's brand. The name and the description describe the shared interest; they do not promote a person, a venue, a product or a service.

When your circle is reviewed, two things are judged and nothing else: is this a real general interest, and is its category right. Who proposed it, and how many circles they are already in, are never a reason to reject it.

Sub circles

A sub circle is a specialisation that only makes sense inside its parent — Breathwork inside Wellness, Salsa inside Latin Dancing, Trail Running inside Running. It is rejected if it is unrelated to its parent, if it is really a separate main interest, or if it is the parent under another name.

If a sub circle for the same thing already exists, yours is rejected and you are told which one to join instead.

Links between circles

Two main circles can be linked when people in one would plausibly enjoy the other. Links between unrelated circles, links that look like promotion, and links involving a circle that breaks these rules are rejected.

Events

Two tests. Is this a real event — a specific thing people do together, at a time and a place? And does it belong in the circle you posted it in? A salsa social belongs in Latin Dancing. A crypto seminar does not.

Who hosts it does not matter. A person, a private club, a studio, a gym, a shop or any other business may host an event, and the event may say so and be held there. Free, paid and ticketed events are all fine — you keep your own ticket link and your own door, because Zonori does not sell tickets or handle payment.

What is rejected: adverts, listings, product or service pitches, recruitment posts, and anything with no real time and place behind it. "6am group run from FitLab Gym, all paces welcome, meet at the front door" in Running is fine — that a gym organises it changes nothing. "Join FitLab Gym — 20% off memberships this month" in Running is not: there is no event, only an advert.

An event posted in an unrelated circle is rejected.

Listed by Zonori. Members post only events they run themselves. The one exception is the account named Zonori, which lists some public events from organisers' own public pages. Each one is labelled "Listed by Zonori", names who runs it, links to the page it came from, and can be claimed or removed by its organiser. Its review adds three checks to the two tests above: the event was taken from the organiser's own public page; its description is a short factual summary, not copied marketing text; and it is not an advert, a sales pitch or a recruitment post. Zonori never lists private or members-only events.

Sex and adult-adjacent interests

Nothing sexually explicit or pornographic is allowed anywhere. There are no age-restricted circles yet, so there is nowhere for it to go.

Adult-adjacent interests are allowed when they are framed tastefully: tantra, polyamory, dating, naturism, shibari and rope, kink education, sex-positive discussion. The wording is what is judged — an informative, respectful description passes; a lewd, graphic or provocative one does not. Names and descriptions that exist to provoke, and anything soliciting sex, are rejected.

An adult-adjacent event is 18+, is held in a private or licensed venue, and says what its consent norms are.

Hate, violence and harm

Anything promoting hate, harassment or harm against people or groups, extremist content, or illegal activity is rejected.

Hobbies that involve weapons or aggression are allowed: shooting sports, archery, hunting, knives and blades, martial arts, boxing, MMA, smash rooms, airsoft, paintball. The line is intent. Enjoying a sport or a craft is fine; targeting, threatening or celebrating harm to people is not.

Drugs: harm reduction, and communities around legal substances — cannabis where it is legal, psychedelics discussion, sober-curious — are fine. Selling or sourcing illegal drugs is not.

People

Report anything to us at [email protected]. Reports are private. We read every one and act on it within 24 hours. In the app, Report and Block are one tap on every profile; Report is a long press on any message (then Block, if you want, from the note that says it was sent), a tap on any event, and the flag on any circle. Blocking works both ways and is silent — the person you block is not told. You can undo a block under You → Blocked people.

What gets an account restricted

Harassment. Threats. Sexual content or solicitation. Posting an event you did not organise. Trying to move a payment to yourself outside the host's own channel. Making account after account. Pretending to be someone else, including through your name or handle. Anything illegal.
